New
design for 2012
Conference table below doubles as an AV display center and large
projection screen that conceals and locks equipment.
The entire project can be made from a few sheets of 3/4" plywood
and 1 3/4" pipe for legs. In the closed position it all looks
like a large table to deter theft. For trade shows this unit
looks like a large table but actually conceals and secures valuable
presentation equipment and materials in lockable compartments.
Legs are removable and unit serves as travel case for AV equipment,
which is pre-wired for fast set up. This unit features a hydraulic
assist to lift the projection screen or large flat screen LCD
in place for viewing and down for locked storage. CLICK

"Death
by Chocolate" and it's companion "The Burgermeisters"
aired on The Learning Channel for
two seasons in Prime Time and on AM Saturdays. Host is C.I.A.

Booths for Gulfstream Racetrack
This
display design included my color renderings, animated
presentation, floor plans, elevations, construction
drawings with 3d models. This was a small job but important
client for the medium sized scene shop.

Mechanical Drawings for Univision
These
are two different designs I created for a motorized
monitor bracket, for "Lente Loco" show on
Univision Network. The design called for the actuators
and electrical components needed to drive the brackets
be hidden and still maintain a sleek, retro, aerodynamic
look. The bracket also needed to articulate in multiple
positions and be strong enough to accommodate the weight
of a large flat screen monitor and not sway or rock
excessively when in motion.

Univision Network - "Latin Grammy Celebra" 2006
"Latin
Grammy Celebra" is
a musical tribute to the Latin Grammy winners of the
past.
The
show was staged at The Bank United Center, University
of Miami, Florida.
My scenic design elements included floor plans, elevations
and construction drawings, with 3d models.

Univision Network - "Premios Juventud" 2005
"Premios Juventud" is
an annual musical youth award show. The set design included
my floor plans, elevations, construction drawings and
lighting plots, with 3d models. The show was built at
Propmasters Miami and staged at the Bank United Center,
University of Miami, Florida.

Galavision Network - "Acceso Maximo" 2006
"Acceso Maximo" is a weekly entertainment
news show airing in the U.S. and over twenty countries
on the Galavision network.
The
set features plasma monitors, recessed neon lighting
and light boxes with interchangeable back lit graphics.
This set shares a studio with five other shows, so it
all strikes into a small truck and can roll away with
built in wheeled platforms.
The set design included floor plan, elevations and construction
drawings, with 3d model renderings. Entire design was
deivered to shop via email. Because of my twenty seven
year relatiomship with Propmasters Miami, I have the
confidence to know the job will be done exactly the
way I want it.
I
know the craftsmen at Propmasters so well I trust them,
working just from my drawings, I don't have to micro
manage jobs to get things done right. That is a luxury
most designers do not have and it affords me the advantage
of spending more time on designing and customer service.

Galavision Network "Sports Update"
Full 3d design models rendered to high resolution
photo realistic prints. Animated walk through presentations
were also rendered for the bid packs that were emailed
to the shops to aid the bidder to quickly interpret
the drawings.

shows are done at the Knight Center theater in downtown Miami,
Florida.

"Primer
Impacto" is a daily news show seen
all over the world. The set design included floor plan, elevation
and construction drawings, with 3d model renderings. These
shows are done in Miami, Florida.
One
interesting feature is the illusion of depth in a average
size studio.
There
are covers concealing the large monitor when not in use, that
rise up to reveal the monitor live on camera.

Commercials
I
have designed and created scenery and props along with effect
and product table top work for
over thirty commercials with Johnson Burnett, Backyard, Feldot
Productions and others. Credits include Pepsi, Hebrew National
Hot Dogs, Planters Peanuts and Miller Beer.
The scenic design elements included floor plans, elevations
and construction drawings, with 3d models.
The
client was able to view the set from all angles before the
build at Propmasters Miami.
This
was shot at Miami Five Studios and features latin singer Thalia
leaving the "Big K" theater and meeting a throng
of fans.
PBS "Sunshine Cuisine" Miami
Sunshine
Cuisine was carried on 179 television stations nationwide,
including the top 25 television viewing markets, for two seasons.

As the staff Scenic Designer with PBS Affiliate WPBT 2 for
ten years, I provided color renderings, floor plans, elevations

My supervisors were able to view the set from all angles before
the build. Along with this set were smaller satellite sets
for the News bureaus in New York City and Washington DC. I

generated designs and graphics using industry-standard software.

Theater Manager, Electrician, Follow Spot for daily performances
and concerts Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Molly Hatchet
and others for two seasons.
• Coconut Grove Children's Theater "Little Shop
of Horrors" Florida 1985
Design and construction of Audrey II puppet. Puppet was a
human size plant that eats people and was operated by two
puppeteers. Actors could pass through the mouth and exit behind
the six foot puppet.
• South Florida
Shakespeare Festival at Viscaya Miami, Florida 1985
Prop Master, Prop Builder and Special Effects for full
four month run of three outdoor shows in repertory including
daily matinees and a school tour. Romeo and Juliet, Two
Gentleman of Verona and The Tempest, which included
over twenty Pyrotechnic Effects Cues. Design and construction
of custom Flash Pots, Controller and Prospero's Staff. The
Staff featured eight mini Flash Pots, electrically ignited
Loads with different Effects and could be fired together or
individually. The same Staff could simultaneously produce
an electrically ignited torch, all operated by actor Jim Finnegan
via Micro Switches on the Staff. The Pyrotechnics on stage
had to sync to the Effects created by Prospero's Staff, Sound
and Lighting Cues.
